How I used to be

These photos were at the start of my Body Dysmorphia post …… but I realised that by putting them there I was automatically making myself look ‘better’ in the other photos.

Learning about myself all the time!

So I removed them, and put them here!

Those photos are of the ‘old’ me I hasten to add!!! (The last photo was taken from when I appeared on the Antiques Roadshow. Season 25 episode 16 from the Mansion House. And we sold the desk for £1200, not the £15000 John Bly said it was worth!)

Another lesson to myself – just looked at these objectively for the first time. Hmmmm.

  1. It’s so weird looking at these photos, because we don’t see each other like we used to when we were neighbours. To us its like two different Gills!, the London Gill & the Facebook Essex Gill! You’ve worked & continue to work so hard, its amazing.

  2. Gill, I know we all repeat the mantra, “it’s what’s on the inside that counts” but if we are brutally honest we are all concerned about our external image. I think what you have done is truly amazing and after years of being overweight it will take you a long time to see the “new Gill” as you really are – slim, healthy, fit, strong, great bum, bit of a saggy belly but hey, who cares, we’ve all got one of those to some degree! Keep on keeping on. I’m 61 now and like you, can probably run rings round most 25 year olds. You’re doing a great job and we’re all learning from your experience. THANK YOU
